Please read carefully – Signing up for the contest is an agreement to abide by these rules: 

  1. Contestants - ages 10 and up may apply. (This contest is NOT open to label signed artist).
  2. There are 3 categories Adult Vocal (17 and over) Singer/Songwriter (ages 10 and over ) and Youth Vocal (ages 10-16 ).
  3. There are 10 weeks of QUALIFYING, 3 weeks of SEMI-FINALS,and one night of FINALS for a total of 14 weeks.Two FINAL winners from each category will go on to the final screening at iSTARS.
  4. Each contestant will audition/perform two songs of their choice..
  5. There will be a band provided for the FINALS only. All finalists must sing with the band. Finalists songs will be pre- selected by the finalists from a playlist provided by the host.
  6. Contestants will be judged by a panel of judges each night.
  7. Qualifying nights may have 1 or more judges. For the SEMI-FINALS and FINALS there will be a panel of 3 to 5 judges.  
  8. Vocal Contestants will be judged on: Vocal Ability, Stage Performance, Style/Appearance.
  9. PLEASE .BRING YOUR OWN BACKING TRACKS (must be audio cd not mp3).
  10. Singer/songwriters will be judged on the Song and Interpretation.
  11. Contestants will sing in the order pre-determined prior to the show. Registration will start at 6:30 p.m. First Contestant performs at 7:30. Try to be at the venue early.
  12. Judges ruling is Final and non-monetary prizes have no cash value or exchange.
  13. Contestants may change their qualifying performance date within 2 days prior to their performance.
  14. Contestants may not use LIVE props such as animals etc. however, costumes, accessories, musical instruments are permitted.
  15. Contestants must perform as solo artists.
  16. If you do not qualify in your first attempt we encourage contestants to audition again in future Qualifying Round weeks.
  17. Sstanding on tables, chairs or swinging microphones is NOT allowed.
  18. NO ONE is allowed to have any verbal, written or physical contact with any judge.
  19. Contestants that exhibit abusive behaviour at any time will be disqualified from the WHOLE of the contest.  Remember, we are all out to have fun and must encourage everyone to do his/her best. Poor sportsmanship is not only unbecoming but will not be tolerated.
  20.
